June Beauty Buys

June 11, 2015

This month, I raided the drugstore for almost all of my beauty buys. While I love a luxury beauty product, sometimes it’s nice to give the wallet a break. These products are just as effective and beautiful, and the best part is, they won’t break the bank.

1 // e.l.f. complexion brush – I was in need of a new blush brush and impulsively grabbed this one. I have to say, it makes all the difference in the world. (If you saw the condition of my old blush brush, there was really nowhere to go but up.) I use it to apply bronzer, which looks so much more blended than before, and blush. It’s incredibly soft, and for three bucks, you really can’t beat it.

2 // st. tropez self tan face lotion – When looking for a new tanning lotion, I looked at several brands. I liked that this one was meant specifically for the face, and it doesn’t add a ton of moisture to my skin. It also has a bronzer in it, so it’s easier to apply it evenly. AND it doesn’t smell terrible. In fact, it doesn’t smell like anything, which is more than I can say for a lot of tanning lotions out there.

3 // opi cajun shrimp and base coat – Cajun Shrimp is my go-to summer red. I need to find a lip color that matches this shade because it’s the perfect red for my skin tone. It looks classic and modern at the same time and compliments my olive skin. Not too red, not too orange. I was in need of a new base coat and splurged on this one. OPI is known for quality nail products, and this doesn’t disappoint. It creates the perfect surface for a beautiful manicure.

4 // nyx shine killer – With the arrival of hotter temps and insane humidity, comes the need to adjust my primer. This formula creates the perfect canvas for my makeup, blurs imperfections, and absorbs excess oil so I don’t have to touch up as much throughout the day.

5 // l’oreal elnett satin hairspray – I’ve been on the hunt for a new hairspray for awhile now, and this is the winner. While the smell is not my favorite, the ultra fine mist is amazing and leaves my hair shiny instead of stiff. It’s perfect for styling my hair down and wavy, but also keeps things in place when I pin my hair up. I highly recommend it for fine-haired ladies like myself.
